For us family is so much more than 2 parents and 2.4 kids, family is all of us (no matter who we are or what life stage we are at).
Not only do we have a variety of activities and courses taking place during the week we also have our Little Church communities that are rich in diversity and interest.
Little Church communities meet throughout the week, some of which are family focused with lots of children attending. Read more if you’d like to hear more about getting involved in a community.
The Parenting Course
Being a parent can be rewarding, fun, challenging and frustrating all at the same time. It is also one of the most important jobs we will ever do. The Parenting Courses we offer aim to acknowledge the rewards but also offer help with the challenges of different stages of parenting. It is suitable for any parent, step parent or caregiver of children aged 0–10. The evening includes refreshments and discussions on topics like setting boundaries and building character. It's a great chance to catch up, share and learn from one another.
A number of our Communities are involved in supporting parenting and we run courses at different times and in different settings.
Baby Steps - Church for Under 5s
Baby Steps meets twice per month on a Monday morning (generally the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month) from 10am until 11.30am in the main gathering space at B&A St Andrews Park. This is a Church gathering for the under 5’s (and their parents and carers). We tell stories, sing songs, do craft, say prayers and have refreshments.
Everyone’s invited, no babies to young. Our aim is to enable families to teach babies and toddlers basic Christian truths, helping them to understand the world around them, taking small steps together to build faith.
Ignite Youth Club
Ignite is a fortnightly Youth Club (for 11-13 year olds) on Friday nights at B&A Gloucester Road, 7:45 to 9:15pm. There’s everything from table tennis to gaming and the tuck shop to craft and a chill-out zone. Each evening there is a short talk helping us to think about God and us.
The Marriage Course
The Marriage Course is an opportunity for any couple (whether married or living together, whether thriving or struggling) to invest in their relationship. No group work, just a romantic meal for two and a chance to discuss topics like communication, forgiveness and dealing with conflict.
The Marriage Course is very practical, giving any couple the tools to build a strong and healthy relationship that lasts a lifetime
The next Marriage Course is run by The Table, one of our Little Church communities and runs every summer term. We partner with other local churches and can help anyone find a Marriage Course at other times in the year.
