B&A Meals
Imagine feeding a city for free…
It’s what we do every day.
B&A meals started in 2022, as churches in Bristol opened Warm Welcome Spaces to those struggling with the cost of living crisis. At B&A we wanted to do something to help. We offered to do the cooking so that churches hosting welcome spaces could also provide a hot meal. We hired a professional chef and work in the kitchen got underway!
With the food sorted, churches could focus on the work of serving their communities.
B&A Meals are hot, nutritious meals designed to get people round a table to eat together. Our meals are ready to eat, and they’re free. Thanks to some generous funding, we can also deliver in our electric van!
B&A Meals are completely free for those that need them.
We now serve almost 700 meals a week to over 20 community spaces across Bristol.
No charge, no fanfare, just nutritious hot food for those in need.
In 2023 we began partnering with Fareshare South West who source waste food and use it to fight hunger. We turn what Fareshare delivers to us - food that would have gone to waste - into delicious meals. It’s a great partnership!

We are grateful for the support of all our partner organisations who make all of this possible.
"B&A Meals deliver delicious, hot meals for our lovely group of people from around the world. Eating together creates community and provides fuel for their English classes later in the evening. Everyone loves the food, both children and adults and from a wide variety of countries too!"

“B&A meals has enabled us to do regular events, inviting in those who are homeless and struggling with addiction. The meals provided free us up to be able to spend more time on talking to those in need. We've had people come to Alpha courses and join our church, after B&A meals were provided for them in our events.”

'B&A meals have enabled us to serve a hot soup lunch in our new community cafe in Brislington. Many of our customers are elderly people who have really valued this tasty, hot meal in the middle of the day. B&A provides an amazing service to church projects around our city and they always arrive with a smile and a much-loved prayer for the cafe team and all our guests.'

"Christ Church seeks to love and serve the community God has placed us in, the community of Hanham, on the very edge of Bristol. As a community... we have very real issues with loneliness and isolation. B&A Meals is a game changer for us because we literally couldn't do what we do without them. We don't have a church kitchen - we have a microwave, a sink and a kettle. In providing us with ready to serve, delicious, cooked meals, B&A Meals have enabled us to serve our community by opening up a place of welcome, belonging and community - a 'Shared Community Lunch'. We are still only at the very beginning of our 'Shared Community Lunch' adventure but we have already seen community building. For us as Church we have seen the 'impossible made possible' and the first fruits of people warming to Jesus and finding acceptance and belonging in his Church family."
