Legacies
Leaving a gift in your will is one way you can help future generations discover Jesus and find a place to belong.
We know that for many, giving doesn’t stop with this season of life. A gift in your will is a simple but powerful way to invest in what matters most—even beyond your lifetime. It’s an act of worship and trust that can shape lives, grow faith, and build community for years to come.
When you include B&A in your will, you’re helping create a future where people encounter Jesus, find hope, and play their part in God’s story. Whether it’s a percentage of your estate or a specific amount, every legacy gift is used with care and purpose.
How to…
Leaving a gift in your will is straightforward. Here are some simple steps to get started:
1. Make or update your will
If you don’t yet have a will, a solicitor or trusted online service can help you create one. If you already have a will, you can add a codicil (a short legal amendment) to include your gift.
2. Choose your gift
You can leave:
• A fixed amount of money
• A percentage of your estate after other gifts have been distributed
• A specific item (property, shares, or something meaningful to you)
3. Use our details
Including B&A’s information ensures your gift reaches us:
B&A Church, 279 Gloucester Road, Bristol, BS7 8NY
Registered Charity Number: 1133747
4. Consider using this wording
Here’s an example your solicitor might use:
“I give to the Parochial Church Council of Bishopston and St Andrews (B&A Church), Bristol (Registered Charity Number 1133747) the sum of £____ or ____% share of my estate for its general purposes, and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge.”
5. Let us know (if you’d like)
You don’t have to tell us, but if you do, we’d love to thank you. Please do email us if legacies are something you would like to talk about.
