Signs are put there for a reason, whether to warn or declare, celebrate or convict. As usual for a cruxifiction Jesus had a sign above his head, but this sign was different to the others, it explains much more than its owners intended. What does the sign above your head say?

Bob Dylan put it simply. “It might be the devil or it might be the Lord but you’ve gotta serve somebody”. Pilate has a problem. He knows Jesus should be freed, but there is the crowd and there is Caesar. Who will he serve? What lessons for us about who we are serving in our everyday lives.

This is a story of extravagant, uninhibited worship. It is an outpouring of love that is likely to have made people feel very uncomfortable at the time.

What does uninhibited worship look like in our imagination? This passage challenges us to strive for that.

The question is not will your life have pain and loss. But rather what will you do with those experiences of pain and loss and who will you become throiugh them. Jesus has a plan for your pain, wll you bring your pain to Him?

When we make mistakes, how do we deal with them? How can we let God show us His way through?

Jesus is amazing, what he does and what he says makes people sit up and take notice. But it seems there are always those who do not 'get him'. Learning from John 9 we look at what can get in the way of us seeing who Jesus is.

How do we live as Christians in a sexually broken society? Too often we shrink back as Christians and end up compromised. Jesus wants to bring us to a place of healing and forgiveness in a way that transforms society.

At the moment in their festival when the Jews ask God for water for the year to come, Jesus offers them – and us – a living water that will quench our thirst for good: the Holy Spirit.

Does the act of remembrance point us elsewhere, to another world? A world of true lasting peace into which each of us are invited.

The power of God follows the purposes of God, which is found in the person of God. When we wonder where God's power is, we should look to His purposes and ultimately to the person of God and a relationship with Him.

We spend our lives taking risks, or trying to avoid them. Find out why taking what appears to be a risk with Jesus is no risk at all.

Jesus expects each one of us to play our part in the struggle against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms - using the weapons of prayer, fasting and giving.

Jesus meets us in our mess, reveals his identity and sets us free from our shame. He does this by His Holy Spirit who is an unseen yet visible force that moves in us to lead us into the work of the Father.
