We journey with Jesus’ followers from the burial of Jesus to the realisation of his resurrection. They go from despair to hope. John’s experience of the resurrection was a gradual dawning of hope and believing. He steps into faith. Where are we on this journey and what does it mean?

The Cross is all about forgiveness. The people of God are a forgiven and a forgiving people. How do we live out this truth and what does forgiveness really look like?

On the cross, Jesus makes a way for Mary and John to look upon one another as family. The church has received these words as not just an instruction for them but for all of us in the way we live our everyday lives.

Signs are put there for a reason, whether to warn or declare, celebrate or convict. As usual for a cruxifiction Jesus had a sign above his head, but this sign was different to the others, it explains much more than its owners intended. What does the sign above your head say?

Bob Dylan put it simply. “It might be the devil or it might be the Lord but you’ve gotta serve somebody”. Pilate has a problem. He knows Jesus should be freed, but there is the crowd and there is Caesar. Who will he serve? What lessons for us about who we are serving in our everyday lives.
