Christianity is not about following a set of rules; it is about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And like any personal relationship, if we are going to make our relationship with Jesus grow we need to spend time with Him.”

There is a big difference between being in trouble and having a troubled heart. In John 14 Jesus tells his disciples the key to not having a troubled heart which is trusting God. Jesus does not just say trust me, he also says why. This is just as relevant to us today.

When Jesus reinstates Peter as the leader of the church he shows us key steps to rebuilding trust: forgiveness, facing mistakes and facing the future. These are simple steps we can follow.

We journey with Jesus’ followers from the burial of Jesus to the realisation of his resurrection. They go from despair to hope. John’s experience of the resurrection was a gradual dawning of hope and believing. He steps into faith. Where are we on this journey and what does it mean?

The Cross is all about forgiveness. The people of God are a forgiven and a forgiving people. How do we live out this truth and what does forgiveness really look like?
